The origin of the Al-Hikmah University Chapter, in its own words.
Al-Hikmah University commenced the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Public Health programme in 2018. At that time, there was no departmental association for Public Health students.
In 2021 the Nigerian Association of Public Health Students (NAPHS), Al-Hikmah University Chapter, was established — with the pioneer 400 level class numbering only five students.
The first President of the association was Rahamatu Emoga, a Direct Entry student appointed by the then Head of Department, Dr. Abdulsamad, who served for one semester. Usman Mahmoud Hassan was subsequently elected and served as the second President, and the first elected President, during the 2021/2022 academic session.
UK-led Administration · 2025/2026
The NAPHS Digital Ecosystem — including the NAPHSIEC electronic voting system — was pioneered and delivered by the UK-led administration of the 2025/2026 session.
